In the last few years Zagreb became real running center. Why? Cause, almost every month you can find your race to run in Zagreb or in its proximity.

We’ve tried to list you some of the biggest races and some of the best running events in Zagreb, although there are also some local leagues where you can run ever week a sort race (like Lagvić league in winter, Puntijarka league during summer, Zagreb Cross League – spring and autumn, taking place at Sava Banks and Park Maksimir).

Holjevka 10 km

The first spring run with the view over Zagreb. You can run 5 or 10 km. The name Holjevka is derrivated from the name of the most famous mayor of Zagreb – Većeslav Holjevac (1952.-1962.). During his mandate the Liberty Bridge (Most Slobode) was built, Zagreb spread to the south bank of the River Sava and the New Zagreb was born. Following his footsteps Holjevka connect both parts of Zagreb. The starting point of the race is on the bridge Most Slobodne, and finish is in the Park Bundek.

Zagreb Spring 10km

Zagreb Spring 10k (or Zagrebački proljetni cener) had its second edition in 2019 but already gathered over 650 participants and probably the same number of supporters at the river Sava banks. They have two distances ( 5 and 10k) and this year they added relay. Besides race they organise Expo area with the stands of partners, running gear, food and drinks etc.

Any how, great atmosphere, a lot of fun, nice medals, and a just as nice running pack that was covered with the entry fee. Check out their photo gallery and make sure you don’t miss it next year!

Organizer: Magazin Trčanje (Running Magazin)

Zagreb21 – Zagreb Spring Half Marathon
